EARLY EDUCATION FOCUS BANDS CONFLICT OF INTEREST FROM FWISD LEADERSHIP

Before anyone jumps on the bandwagon of "whining" and "just complaining", let's listen first.

The STAR posted an article indicating how FWISD and the business communities are banding together for Early Childhood Education.  We don't think you will find many dissenters on the fact that our children struggle due to lack of a strong foundation but more because of the living condition they are in.  Recall back back in the Dansby era when the bond was sold to the taxpayers, early education was the selling point and nothing has surfaced.  How many community meetings have been held and how much more talking do we need to realize that our children need the space, need the access, need the resources, need social and emotional help?

We have been through this before, we want talk to stop and action to take place.  What we don't appreciate is how Board President Ramos has benefitted, along with his close circle of friends and family, from the contracts awarded by the district to YAP and many other organizations that want to do well but hire the same people who surround him.  Let's call it for what it is...you fill in the blank. We know there are plans for him in the future whether he decides to run in 2017 because the stars seem to be aligning within the Mafia circle on who is next to move up.  We know he wants to be a speaker and recall that he only has to work 2 hours a day.  Every wonder how he takes many trips and has the time to do so?  Don't be fooled folks, it's a who you know system and it's good to know the big guy because he will get you where you need to be.

Tell us how much student lives have improved since 2013?  Ramos' life has improved quite a bit from notoriety to trips to give his speeches on culture relations, etc.  You would think that the same effort he spends on others he would do so for the students here in FWISD.  We mean ALL students not just North Side.  Recall that East Fort Worth has been forgotten, hence, no major school of choice is East of I-35.  For that matter not sure about the South. The discipline statistics speak to the fact that no culture has changed nor the climate of the very schools he in entrusted with and let's not leave the others go free because it's a TEAM they wanted and still do not provide substance.

Some of the same organizations banding together could have done so a long time ago even when they didn't have contracts but now they are on board that we need children educated earlier.  So how long does it take to figure that out?  If it takes 4 to 5 years for our leaders to finally understand what we have said for a long time then we are in the state we are in because we have no true leadership.  We are still giving Dr. Scribner that opportunity to turn the page and be his own man.  Show us that you  run the ship, if the board is united in making a difference, then they will allow him to make the changes that are truly needed.  It starts with change of the guard at all levels.  The actions taken now and for the next year will tell who is running the district and whether the interests of students are truly being served for the better.

So yes let's bring early education and embrace our parents in a manner that is truly apparent that they are wanted.  Let's get out and inform them.

EAST FORT WORTH STUDENTS HAVE NO REPRESENTATION

In searching the internet on a network for teachers, we came upon this comment from a teacher or parent who was passionate about how our East Fort Worth students are not receiving what they need to succeed in college.  It seems College and Career Readiness is not the mantra of ALL Fort Worth ISD.

This still rings true to what we said back during the last election and also currently what is happening in the district.  District 2 and 3 high schools apparently do not have what it takes to compete with everyone else.  Where are the resources going?  We can certainly say that leadership lacks in Poly and we are not sure Eastern Hills or Wyatt or Dunbar.  Where are the leaders?

Tobi Jackson?  guess since it's not election time it doesn't matter what happens in the district.  Such a shame!   The only person that can correct this is Dr. Scribner if he is truly committed to changing the status quo.  The man you see there handing out the recognitions should be gone period.  He is responsible for the shambles the district is in and yet he maintains his job.  The students and teachers continue to suffer.  Students are not being exposed to high expectations or rigor, so how do you expect them to excel in college.  Look at the Texas Higher Coordinating Board to see just how FWISD students fare after their first year.  If you are about the data, then view the data that shows the real picture and not propaganda.

SAD!

DISCIPLINE AN ISSUE AT FORT WORTH ISD

We have known for quite a while the disparity of discipline in Fort Worth ISD and it shows on the recent study presented by Project Appleseed.

Nothing new to report really because policies are in place to support upper management rather than the campuses.  Also money approved by the board to entities that deal with discipline instead of handling the problem at home.  We have asked for support from social workers at the elementary level to help with the many emotional problems our students are faced with and also support on how to deal with current students.

The answers never come and the support lags.  So much for promises during the campaigns from the current leaders who promised more.  We recall My Brother's Keeper among other initiatives that have not brought much to support the campuses.

So what now FWISD?  What will be different or what has been different this year that is changing how students are supported, as well as, us as teachers who deal with behavior issues daily.  Suspension does not work when the student is going to return and there is no intervention in place to help them.  To BOE, when you look into programs, look at what you have now and put strategic practices and stop spending money on what looks good.

DR. SCRIBNER, WHEN WILL OUR VOICES BE HEARD?

You have heard the 'opinions' of the FWISD Board, Cabinet and Leadership, but what about the employees on the front lines?

Custodians, Maintenance Crews, Cafeteria employees and all the voices that are always ignored and always subjected to threats, humilation and workplace bullying.
It is a FACT and obvious the board, cabinet and leadership have done NOTHING to improve FWISD. Top heavy and collapsing on our students.

It is our prayer that you listen to everyone and that it is done with protection from retaliation. For it has been the fear of retaliation, loss of job and no trust in the department of Human Resources that keeps us suffering in the dark for many many years.

We want to believe that you will truly seek out the truth about the morale and the working environment we have lived in for too many years.  We know you have a tough job but then again it's a choice.  Now that you have taken on this responsibility don't forget that there are many stories yet untold.  The people who have your ear right now have no integrity left in them because the state of our district is on them.  They have lasted many superintendents and yet the results speak for themselves.

Read Dr. Sutherland's blog on regarding some people who are reaching out to you.  While she stopped talking to us, some points are being raised on what still ails the district.

Will you hear us soon?

Sincerely,
The Employees that feed our children
The Employees that clean the campuses
The Employees that teach our children
The Employees that work the fields
The Employees that work one on one with our students
The Employees that are NEVER heard...

THE CHEATING GHOST OF ARLINGTON HEIGHTS NOW OVER AT POLY HIGH SCHOOL

Several sources have confirmed that attendance issues have come to light at Poly High School over falsification of attendance records for students to graduate.

We know the problem was never resolved because lower level employees were dealt with rather than the top wigs.  For example, Needham covering it up and the Palazzolo fiasco took place.

Now we have Principal Delich creating an atmosphere of fear due to write ups and excessive visits on staff because of the audit that is approaching.  This type of environment is very familiar in FWISD to blame everyone else but the very people who are charged with oversight.

Dr. Scribner, what say you?

So Ms. Jackson, where have you been?  Now it's your turn to hide things like Needham?  I guess you don't have to worry about this since your child goes to Paschal.  So keep on celebrating the graduation rate- cheating is the only way to get there.

Oh my what a force in this picture, all the pieces of the cover up puzzle
Mr. Delich wore a shirt that says I read, what is your superpower, I think it's more
I CHEAT, THE FWISD WAY!

FEDS TO INVESTIGATE FWISD OVER SPED/DISCIPLINE

http://www.star-telegram.com/news/local/community/fort-worth/article37241166.html

The initial story from the STAR is that the FEDS are looking into violations of civil rights through out the area and that may be the case.  We also know that former staff and current staff have made complaints to the Office of Civil Rights concerning the unequal treatment of minority students among other things.

What we found ironic in the article is the picture they used of Neta Alexander, the infamous principal who was part of the unequal treatment of students dividing it among racial lines.  We knew white students were given more reprieve than hispanics and blacks.  If you recall an article about the soccer team punished heavily for an incident when white students would do the same thing and nothing would occur.  But the other part is that Neta was a favorite of Needham and everything there was covered up until people spoke up.

We know there is a lot hidden and hopefully this time we get answers.  We are still waiting on the release of the Department of Education Report that was closed to the public by our politicians.  We know our own Congressman Marc Veasey had it closed for FOI requests.  That report would detail the lies FWISD has used in reporting and how they have treated students.  We hope the FEDS stay here and help us out with many other things.

Dr. Scribner, I would ask for the reports and see what you can uncover because the issue has been buried and like anything old it becomes fossilized but the problem is still there.

SPED PROBLEMS BACK ON THE RADAR

Ok it didn't take long to get a story...

For many of you who have kept up with stories related to SPED none are more talked about than Arlington Heights High School.  Here are a few links of the stories done on the struggles of our special populations.

http://www.fwweekly.com/2013/02/27/special-treatment/

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B58nQYNsVgwwZjNjWkN5cDVrTXc  -lawsuit filed against FWISD back in 2010-2011 for not following procedures.

We are sure there are many other stories related to lack of procedures or treatments towards special ed students.

The recurring issues are:

*Falsification of documents- supported by current Special Ed Executive Sheffield and Sorum
*Teachers bullied into inappropriate actions and documentation to keep their jobs
*BIC classes with no aides.
*Our SPED students are being mistreated by the actions taken at ARDs without consideration from staff/parents.

While there other issues to resolve we call upon Dr. Scribner to audit the department to make sure proper and legal procedures are taking place for these students.

If any of you have comments or information please send it and we will forward it to Dr. Scribner.  We are our best advocates as no other admin or board member will hear us out anymore.

THE SCRIBNER ERA BEGINS!

With the beginning of the 2nd Edition of CIAFWISD.  We wanted to start with welcoming Dr. Scribner to FWISD.  We know he has mentioned us at meetings and knows of who we are.  We want him to know the intent of the blog was to uncover what has been hidden for so long and our need for something different.

From all indications Dr. Scribner has started well in his approach and we look forward to many positive things.  For example, he wants the board to look beyond their turf but look at the district as whole; how can we make it better?  We had advocated for that when some areas of the district were the main focus and the rest were left with no support.

We liked that he fact that he spoke about trust which is something that we have very little of in the current leaders all the way to the Board.  Dr. Scribner will have our full support when we see the changes.  We will give him the benefit of the doubt and at the same time provide him with stories that highlight the ongoing wrongs.  To him, perhaps, as it to many we may be considered satirical or just a complaining blog but know that our stories come from real people not a magic ball.  There are people who know a lot things and will not come out for fear of retaliation.

But we will have enough time and space to report.

Welcome Aboard Dr. Scribner and thank you for putting us at the forefront.  Yes you will be on the blog and hope we can say great things about.  We are not that bad!  We actually care about our district.
